If you've been reading my blog for some time now, you've probably heard me talk about one of my best friends Sheila Juan-Catilo. We've been buddies since we were in the third grade, in the 20+ years we've known each other we probably grew 3 inches taller. Hahaha :) Sheila started dabbling into photography in her teen years but it was only after college that I was able to see her "at work". A few years ago, I asked her to take photos of our Preschool's UN Program. I was a newbie teacher and she was relatively new in the industry as well. I expected the usual "event coverage" so I was pleasantly surprised when I reviewed the photos. She managed to capture all my students' personalities--their kengkoy faces, their funny pouts, and even their awkward dance moves. My co-teachers and I just kept marveling at the photos, clicking and saying "Awwww!" all together. We published the photos in our small yearbook and the parents were teary eyed over all the photos Sheila took. That's when I knew, photography was indeed her gift and her talent was undeniable.
Sheila and her hubby Jorem shoot prenups, weddings, print ads, magazine editorials professionally but on the side, Sheila manages to squeeze in some time to do beautiful maternity and newborn shoots as well! She shot two expectant mommies who are due around the same time--and who both happen to be my dear friends. So today, I'm sharing Sheila's photos to inspire all the mommies (and those who dream to be mommies) out there!
My friend Nicole at 8 and 1/2 months.

My sister in law to be Cecil, who is expecting her second girl any time now.
And of course, the mommy photographer herself (who could easily pass as a model too--kulang lang sa height! hahaha, joke!). These photos were shot by her adoring hubby and fellow photographer, Jorem, in Batanes.
Sheila and my darling god-daughter, River. The sweetest and most pleasant baby you'll ever meet!
