If you recall, a few posts back I shared the teaser--now, here's the actual video!!! I'm crossing my fingers here, I hope you all like it too! You know that green triangle below, that's what you call a play button..and when you click it, magical things happen! So click it, brotha, click the darn triangle already!!! I'm just so excited to share this---obviously! Hahahaha :)

Soooo???? Did you like it, did you like it??? Ang ganda diba??? Awww, Please say YES! I loved every bit of the video..well, except for the awful dancing towards the end. That was just so funny for me to watch! The last time I danced like this was in my JS Prom which was a thousand years ago. And I don't even know if Patrick even danced during his prom! Kulang talaga kami sa practice! Nico shot everything freestyle so when he said "Guys, can you dance?", we just let out a big laugh but tried it anyway. It was shot in one take so we were just learning it while the camera was rolling. We were dancing like ill coordinated idiots--- "Uhh..twirl..ehhh..don't get the sparklers thingy on my foot..oops sorry.." But it was actually a sweet moment for us since it was our very first time to dance like this as a couple! I told Nico we should just edit this video and insert a clip of our Kinect dance moves, Patrick and I do better with 90s hiphop! Hahaha :)

The video was shot in Splendido Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay. My dresses were made by Mich Araullo, Hair by my Goody Brush, and Makeup by ME (more like eyeliner, blush and lipgloss--really unprofessional makeup)! For Patrick, we raided the racks of SM Dept Store and found lots of nice polos at 50% off! He pulled off those sale items and looked really handsome, doncha think?:) Hopefully we're proof that you don't have to spend a lot to create something pretty!

As soon as Patrick and I got engaged on New Years Eve, we received tons of phone calls and texts from our closest friends--apparently everyone EXCEPT ME, knew that Patrick was going to propose so as soon as Pat tweeted "She said YES!" our phones kept ringing off the hook with congratulatory messages! Just a few days later, we got emails from friends volunteering this and that--and it was just completely overwhelming to have people offering so much of their time and talents just for us. Before we knew it, we had a whole pool of wonderfully talented people all set for our pre-wedding needs..even before we could sit down to assess our wedding budget, God already provided for us through our friends!! Blessed, that's the only word for it. It's so amazing how God just orchestrated every little detail for us--and continues to work things out for us as we speak.

This video is again proof of God's kindness to us--which came in the form of Nicollo Lopez and Krissy Rodriguez, a videographer and a photographer respectively, both are Patrick's close childhood friends. They sent us a message via Facebook offering to do an Engagement video/photo shoot as a gift! YES!!! was the only word that came out of my lips! How could you say NO to such a generous and thoughtful present??? I'll be sharing the photos by Krissy in a few days, woopeedoo!:)
This is Patrick's favorite scene! He kept rewinding it and laughing at the screen! HAY NAKU, men, pffft.
When Nico mentioned his intent to do an "Engagement Video", I secretly froze inside. I'm a horrible actress. I can't bloody act to save my life. I recall attending a casting call for a commercial years ago. The caster said "Ok Patty, sumasayaw ka sa club...." so at this point I'm dancing, with my tugs-tugs-tugs... "Tapos biglang sumakit tiyan mo..naku, may diarrhea ka!!!". What the heck?!?!?! Diarrhea in the Club?!?!? How do you act that out? My dancing is awkward enough, why make it even more awkward?! I just gracefully apologized and told them that I couldn't act it out and laughed all the way to the car! So needless to say, acting is not my strongest suit. But thankfully, Nico reassured me that there was no acting required and that he would just shoot me and Patrick as ourselves. No need for internalizations and character developments, the idea was to drive up to Tagaytay, have an afternoon picnic, do our usual thing. And so that's exactly what we did, our normal day-to-day landian was beautifully captured by Nico's lens and I'm so happy with how it turned out.

If Nico didn't offer this shoot to us, I would have never ever thought of having a prenup video shoot.  But after watching this video (again and again with my weirdo with a beard-o) it is only now that I understand the value of preserving your memories in film. This is something I strongly urge couples to  invest in, for prenup or even postnup. When Nico sent the link to us, we downloaded it as fast as we could! Patrick clicked the pause button in one frame and said, " look so beautiful in this shot! I want to marry you today!!" and he gave me a big bear hug. And that made me smile from ear to ear! No Prada bag, No fancy Greek island cruise, No one million dollar yacht can ever measure up to a sincere and heartfelt compliment like that from the person you love the most. So to my dear friends Nico and Krissy, thank you for bottling up all these happy moments and allowing us to have these beautiful keepsakes. Like I said before, we will watch this again and again until we're wrinkly and jiggly. And when we both become old and grumpy, these images will remind us to be happy and silly all over again!:)
Just as my friends have been blessings to me,
I hope to be a blessing to you too.

Slice Restaurant

Adding a new place to my Boni High Street list! Enjoyed all the comfort food at Slice this evening.
Chicken and Cream Penne, Roast Beef Open Face Sandwich, Choco Yema Cupcake, and Turtle Pie. Still trying to figure out which one's my favorite because I liked them all! It's like picking a favorite child, medyo mahirap kung mahal mo silang lahat equally diba?? I'm like that when it comes to food. Hahaha!

Victorian Wedding Rings

How can you not fall in love with these unique and antique wedding rings!?! Wedding bands are so 2012, I think I'm liking these bands from the 1800s! Last last last last----laaaaast season is so IN these days! It's the perfect mix of new and old, the changes and the things that are constant, so fitting indeed for a marriage. :)

The Bread Bag

Hello People of the Archipelago! Hola to all you bread lovers! There is no greater bread than THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE PAN DE SAL! Pan de Sal has been our household staple ever since I was born. Kapag walang pandesal sa bahay nag-wewelga ang mga tao dito. Think Gaston with the angry villagers in Beauty and the Beast--->>>>
Sorry innocent babies sucking from your mothers' bossoms, I had to include you. We're talking about PAN DE SAL here. If we were just fighting for mamon or some fancy focaccia, we would have given you a chance to live. Pero baby dudes, pan de sal yan eh.. I hope you understand. Imagine a week without pandesal??? Take my word for it, everytime I go on holiday's death to my tastebuds going for weeks without my pande-love! If you are just as crazy about pan de sal, then I think you'll drool over this place called the Bread Bag. All their pandesals are freshly baked in their own pugon so it comes to you in all it's warm, crunchy meets mushy glory! I visited their branch in Ortigas Home Depot with my girlfriends and we went pande-crazy! :)
Isn't it such a genius concept??? To have a whole meal in one giant pandesal? Instead of having a burger or your typical rice meal for lunch..why not treat yourself to a Pan de Plato? It's actually a creative twist to your usual lutong bahay meals served with rice. My personal favorite is their Pan ala Cubana!!! YUMMY!!! Each serving is quite generous and will get you stuffed immediately. Here's my secret strategy---get one order then have some dessert to take away the saltiness in your palate..then order another pandesal dish! Salty-Sweet-Salty--then Sweet again!
Happy Pande-Loving!!!:)

Check out all their yummy pandesal combos that come with camote chips on the side! All their dishes are reasonably priced and won't hurt your walleyyyy :) If you live down South, you can always visit Casa Marcos in Burgos Circle, The Fort where you can find a Bread Bag branch on the first floor.
Some photos were grabbed from the Bread Bag website.

Fashion Friday: Quirky and Colorful Finds

Whenever I have meetings and shoots in the north, I normally kill time in my favorite hangout spot PIPINO. A few weeks ago while I was chilling with Alessa, there was a group of pretty (and incredibly fashionable) girls having merienda at the resto and being the curious little cat that I am--I tried to (subtle kuno) observe what their whole meeting was about. The girls started whipping out all these cute shoes, camera straps, laptop sleeves which encouraged me to "spy" even more. I soon found out that it was actually a small party for PUNCH DRUNK PANDA, a group of young proudly Pinoy creatives who have come up with their own line of products. You can read more about this through Raleene's blog here. As soon as I got home, I googled them and was pleasantly surprised to see all their fabulous designs on their website. I received my pair of pretty aztec inspired skimmers just yesterday! Woohooo! They're called "Manic Mayans" designed by Kitkat Pecson and Patricia Prieto..and I promise you, they're even prettier up close. They have plimsolls and skimmers that come in different designs and sizes (but you'll have to order ASAP before they run out of stocks!). I love sharing new discoveries with my readers (as much as I love getting new tips and insider info from you guys too) so I couldn't wait to show my new pair of PDPs to all of you today. Excuse the photo, I didn't have a spot of makeup on--so I apologize for not looking like a legit "fashionista" in this picture! Pasensya na poooo! I will try to be more glamorous next time--emphasis on the word TRY. Hahaha.

I also received these cute lace accessories from Gera Online. They made earrings for me in my favorite summer colors! Here I am hamming it up for my Iphone.

It's time to share the happy goodies again. Yipeee!

Behind the Scenes: Fiber and Fruit Shoot

Can I get a woot-woot!?! I am now part of the Fiber and Fruit family!!! I'm so happy to be one of the brand ambassadors of this healthy and refreshing fruit drink. All the fruity flavors are really delicious, but my personal favorite is the PEACH flavored Fiber and Fruit. I must've downed at least 3 bottles while having my hair and makeup done. I kept stealing bottles from the cooler! (Shhhh..that's our little secret!) Since today was the hottest day of the year, it was actually good to shoot some refreshing drinks--at least we had an excuse to drink up to beat the heat! hahaha!
For this shoot, I worked with two of my co-ambassadors--naks, sounds so diplomatic right?--Rockstar Champ Lui-Pio and Actor/Photographer/Divine Lee's other half Victor Basa. These guys are so easy going and we instantly clicked after a few clicks, here are some of our "happy family photos".  The shoot was very relaxed and playful, with lots of side comments and jokes in between! Since I'm tiny compared to these two hunks, they had to prop me up through an apple box! Kakahiya! Anyone willing to sponsor my leg implants and give me at least 5 inches of height?? Please???
Paolo Pineda was our photographer for today, one of the easiest and most down to earth photographers I've ever worked with. The last time I worked with him was when I was a clueless nene, hopefully I matured in my mowdelling since then! He even sent me such a encouraging tweet which made me soooo kiliiiiiggg especially since Paolo has shot so many big time celebs and models!:) Kung pwede lang, I will frame this tweet! And no, I will not post the photographs from that shoot from 8 years ago--let's stick to the new and improved Patty, shall we!?

We had the best (and most entertaining) team of stylists headed by Jasmine Mendiola (my go to girl for natural "ME" looking makeup) and Sidney Yap (who knows my style so well and always encourages me to go sexier than usual by forcing me to squeeze into skin tight dresses and sexy minis! I always have to inhale to fit into his fabulous pieces! HAHAHA!) I'm also thankful that the super supportive Oishi team was there to cheer for us as we tried our best to do some wacky and weird poses! I'm not a professional model, I just do it from time to time-- but modeling is a very physically demanding job. Shoots usually last for hours which can be extremely tiring so it's really such a blessing to have a pool of kind and helpful people around you. It makes it much easier to smile for the camera when you're in a happy working environment. Sidney and Jasmine are a riot to work with and there's never a time when I'm "behaved" whenever I work with these two!
The photos of our Fiber and Fruit campaign by Paolo will be out soon and I can't wait to share it all with you. In the meantime, do your body good and get some Fiber and Fruit at your local grocery :) Woohoo, that's me and my first attempt at "ambassadoring"! Hihihihi! Go for the peach, I promise you'll love it too!

Travel Tuesday with Roomorama: BALI

Ooohhh, Bali!!! I've been to Bali twice before and I definitely see myself heading back there soon. With direct flights via PAL, it's much easier to travel to this beautiful Indonesian destination from Manila. Bali offers the perfect mix of culture, surf/adventure, and picturesque kind of travel! Here's what the folks at Lonely Planet have to say about this mystical destination:
Bali may be small in size – you can drive around the entire coast in one long day – but its prominence as a destination is huge, and rightfully so. Ask travellers what Bali means to them and you’ll get as many answers as there are flowers on a frangipani tree. Virescent rice terraces, pulse-pounding surf, enchanting temple ceremonies, mesmerising dance performances and ribbons of beaches are just some of the images people cherish.
Small obviously doesn’t mean limited. The manic whirl of Kuta segues into the luxury of Seminyak. The artistic swirl of Ubud is a counterpoint to misty treks amid the volcanoes. Mellow beach towns like Amed, Lovina and Pemuteran can be found right round the coast and just offshore is the laid-back idyll of Nusa Lembongan.
As you stumble upon the exquisite little offerings left all over the island that materialise as if by magic, you’ll see that the tiny tapestry of colours and textures is a metaphor for Bali itself.
And those are just some of the more obvious qualities. A visit to Bali means that you are in the most visitor-friendly island of Indonesia. There are pleasures of the body, whether a massage on the beach or a hedonistic interlude in a sybaritic spa. Shopping that will put ‘extra bag’ at the top of your list. Food and drink ranging from the freshest local cuisine bursting with the flavours of the markets to food from around the globe, often prepared by chefs and served in restaurants that are world class. From a cold Bintang at sunset to an epic night clubbing in Kuta, your social whirl is limited only by your own fortitude.

Yesterday, my buddy Stella and I were exchanging travel tips via text and she thanked me for recommending Roomorama to her. Apparently, it has become her latest online addiction--in fact, she already booked an apartment in Barcelona for an upcoming trip! I have to admit, even if I don't have any immediate travel plans--it's just nice to drop by the site and just type in random destinations to see all their property listings. It's a great way to start your wander-lusting and it's also nice to keep these places in mind just in case the opportunity to travel presents itself. If you haven't encountered Roomorama yet, here's my previous blog entry about it. So for today, let me show you my favorite Roomorama properties in Bali.
