Soooo???? Did you like it, did you like it??? Ang ganda diba??? Awww, Please say YES! I loved every bit of the video..well, except for the awful dancing towards the end. That was just so funny for me to watch! The last time I danced like this was in my JS Prom which was a thousand years ago. And I don't even know if Patrick even danced during his prom! Kulang talaga kami sa practice! Nico shot everything freestyle so when he said "Guys, can you dance?", we just let out a big laugh but tried it anyway. It was shot in one take so we were just learning it while the camera was rolling. We were dancing like ill coordinated idiots--- "Uhh..twirl..ehhh..don't get the sparklers thingy on my hair..ayyy..my foot..oops sorry.." But it was actually a sweet moment for us since it was our very first time to dance like this as a couple! I told Nico we should just edit this video and insert a clip of our Kinect dance moves, Patrick and I do better with 90s hiphop! Hahaha :)
The video was shot in Splendido Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay. My dresses were made by Mich Araullo, Hair by my Goody Brush, and Makeup by ME (more like eyeliner, blush and lipgloss--really unprofessional makeup)! For Patrick, we raided the racks of SM Dept Store and found lots of nice polos at 50% off! He pulled off those sale items and looked really handsome, doncha think?:) Hopefully we're proof that you don't have to spend a lot to create something pretty!

As soon as Patrick and I got engaged on New Years Eve, we received tons of phone calls and texts from our closest friends--apparently everyone EXCEPT ME, knew that Patrick was going to propose so as soon as Pat tweeted "She said YES!" our phones kept ringing off the hook with congratulatory messages! Just a few days later, we got emails from friends volunteering this and that--and it was just completely overwhelming to have people offering so much of their time and talents just for us. Before we knew it, we had a whole pool of wonderfully talented people all set for our pre-wedding needs..even before we could sit down to assess our wedding budget, God already provided for us through our friends!! Blessed, that's the only word for it. It's so amazing how God just orchestrated every little detail for us--and continues to work things out for us as we speak.
This video is again proof of God's kindness to us--which came in the form of Nicollo Lopez and Krissy Rodriguez, a videographer and a photographer respectively, both are Patrick's close childhood friends. They sent us a message via Facebook offering to do an Engagement video/photo shoot as a gift! YES!!! was the only word that came out of my lips! How could you say NO to such a generous and thoughtful present??? I'll be sharing the photos by Krissy in a few days, woopeedoo!:)
This is Patrick's favorite scene! He kept rewinding it and laughing at the screen! HAY NAKU, men, pffft.
When Nico mentioned his intent to do an "Engagement Video", I secretly froze inside. I'm a horrible actress. I can't bloody act to save my life. I recall attending a casting call for a commercial years ago. The caster said "Ok Patty, sumasayaw ka sa club...." so at this point I'm dancing, with my tugs-tugs-tugs... "Tapos biglang sumakit tiyan mo..naku, may diarrhea ka!!!". What the heck?!?!?! Diarrhea in the Club?!?!? How do you act that out? My dancing is awkward enough, why make it even more awkward?! I just gracefully apologized and told them that I couldn't act it out and laughed all the way to the car! So needless to say, acting is not my strongest suit. But thankfully, Nico reassured me that there was no acting required and that he would just shoot me and Patrick as ourselves. No need for internalizations and character developments, the idea was to drive up to Tagaytay, have an afternoon picnic, do our usual thing. And so that's exactly what we did, our normal day-to-day landian was beautifully captured by Nico's lens and I'm so happy with how it turned out.
If Nico didn't offer this shoot to us, I would have never ever thought of having a prenup video shoot. But after watching this video (again and again with my weirdo with a beard-o) it is only now that I understand the value of preserving your memories in film. This is something I strongly urge couples to invest in, for prenup or even postnup. When Nico sent the link to us, we downloaded it as fast as we could! Patrick clicked the pause button in one frame and said, "Wow..you look so beautiful in this shot! I want to marry you today!!" and he gave me a big bear hug. And that made me smile from ear to ear! No Prada bag, No fancy Greek island cruise, No one million dollar yacht can ever measure up to a sincere and heartfelt compliment like that from the person you love the most. So to my dear friends Nico and Krissy, thank you for bottling up all these happy moments and allowing us to have these beautiful keepsakes. Like I said before, we will watch this again and again until we're wrinkly and jiggly. And when we both become old and grumpy, these images will remind us to be happy and silly all over again!:)
