Flying from Manila to Paris

Here’s a little teaser video by ze hubby! He has been inseparable with his beloved Blackmagic Pocket Camera throughout this trip–and I know I should be jealous but I can’t complain because I get to enjoy these travel mementos (and best of all…I get to share these vids with all of you too!).  This is just a little snippet of our trip, he’s working on a few more!

For those asking about our trip details, hope this information comes in handy when planning for your next holiday. I’ll try to list down more helpful tips in my next posts!

We flew from Manila to Paris via Eva Air. We flew with them last year to New York and were really happy with their service so we decided to fly with them again this year to Europe. We booked the Elite Class seats, in between coach and business, that has more leg room, spacious seats, and lounge access too but without having to pay the killer Business class fares. But if you’re on a budget, you can still book their regular economy seats. They often have really good deals online so make sure you check their website from time to time— Thanks again Ms. Nancie Ng and Ms. Lara Lubi of EVA AIR Philippines for assisting us with our bookings. It’s always a pleasure flying with EVA AIR!:)

We booked via Agoda (my trusted hotel booking site!) for Paris. It’s always important for me to do my research about my accommodations because although I’m a budget traveller, I’m very very very particular about the cleanliness of the hotel. It’s something that I really consider more than anything! Cleanliness, Service, Location, Decor– if all these things manage to come with a good price tag, then I’m sold. Char Vilchez of AGODA Philippines raved about the Platine Hotel and since she has become my go-to-girl for hotel recos, I trusted her suggestion and went ahead with our booking.

The Platine Hotel definitely did not fact, it completely WOWed me! This was my third visit to Paris and so I grew accustomed to small budget hotels. Although small, this hotel had so much charm and character. The rooms were compact but functional. One has to remember that Paris is an expensive city–so their hotel rates are quite steep compared to other destinations. This hotel is a 4 star property with 5 star service. We absolutely loved the service, they really went out of their way to accommodate our requests and make us feel so welcome. And I could go on and on about the decor, this is definitely the strength of this hotel. Checking into the Platine is an experience in itself. The retro, Old Hollywood glam inspired interiors really tickled my fancy! Marilyn Monroe was everywhere!:) It’s an incredibly photogenic hotel 🙂

The location is hard to beat as well. It was just a a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower (about 15 minutes on foot) and the Charles Michel station was just right around the corner making it very accessible to the rest of the city. It was a super convenient base for me and Patrick allowing us to maximize our itinerary (that’s why we managed to visit so many places in just a few days!). I highly recommended booking this hotel via Agoda. Here are some photos I snapped with my phone, I’ll be posting more photos soon!

Stay tuned for more of our Paris photos and videos! I can’t wait to share it all with you!:) 🙂 Thanks by the way for sending so many warm comments/emails about our Paris Photo Shoot! You guys are the sweetest!
