Our Memory Wall

Patrick and I slept over at my parents’ house in Alabang last weekend. And I just had to re-admire my Dad’s DIY project which we fondly call the “Memory Wall”. My dad started this photo collage when we were in grade school. We’ve transferred to different houses from Makati to Paranaque to Alabang to Makati and this big chunk of wood was transported from house to house too! It occupies an entire wall so you can imagine this was such a nightmare to pack for the movers! Hehehe!

The idea was for us to post a photo from an important milestone/family trip each year. When I was in high school it was only half full and it looked like a weird unfinished project for a while–but looking at how it’s practically 99% filled with photo memories now, I wish we could go back to those days when life was still “waiting” for us. I felt really sentimental seeing the Memory Wall completed–signaling the end of our years as “children” of our parents. We are now married and ready to start our own families. Huhuhuhu 🙁 I think it’s time for my dad to build a new memory wall–for his future grandchildren 🙂
