Dropped by my favorite vegetarian restaurant in the metro, PIPINO, last week to meet up with my BFF Alessa. We’ve both been busy with work so it was great to catch up after ages (weeks can mean an eternity in girlfriend years). From all my past posts you’ve probably noticed that my PIPINO staples include: Lemongrass Tofu Skewers, Veggie Curry with Couscous, Veggie Tempura, Walnut Salad and their Taro Chips (how could you not order this?!!?). But this time I ordered something different, a hearty Portobello Mushroom Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries—sarap!!!! It’s surprisingly filling even if it’s meatless. I also had an chocolate chip oatmeal cookie (made with wholewheat flour and coco sugar) after—and a whole medley of dairy free ice cream. Their ice cream flavors are: Dark Choco (Ale’s favorite), Oreo, Fresh Lemon, Coconut (my favorite), Banana Sherbet, and Vanilla Graham. All are made using ether cashew, almond or coconut milk and are available for dine in orders. Aside from their in house specialties, PIPINO now offers bottled goodies too for you to enjoy at home. It’s perfect for those lazy days when you just want to eat something tasty but healthy minus the stress of preparation.
