Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok

We just landed about 3 hours ago and yet I’m still on a Bangkok high! I normally wait a few days (sometimes even weeks if I head straight back to work!) to get settled before blogging about a trip but tonight I feel like sharing my experience immediately! Hehehe 🙂 I guess I really just enjoyed this quick getaway so much, I still have so much energy left.

In one of my early check-ups with my OB GYNE, she mentioned that going on a babymoon would be a great idea for me and my husband to enjoy some quality time before welcoming our little bundle of joy. She told me that traveling between the 4th-6th month of pregnancy is usually ideal. (Given of course that you and the baby are in good shape and free from complications. It’s always best to consult with your doctor before making any plans.) So there, I started researching on babymoon ideas. To be more specific, I wanted it to be a FOODIE BABYMOON trip—just a trip dedicated to eating, chilling, eating, and sleeping (no shopping/sightseeing for now). And because I’ve been craving for Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai food for the past few months— it was definitely a toss up between these 4 countries. I’ve always had a soft spot for Bangkok and because I found a promo fare one random afternoon, I knew BKK and I were meant to be. Hahaha! So with the help of my awesome friends in AGODA headed by Charisse Vilchez, we planned our intimate AGODA  BABYMOON in Bangkok. We were looking for a hotel by the riverside this time and the ROYAL ORCHID SHERATON seemed like the perfect fit for our chill babymoon plans. You can get really good deals by booking via 🙂

The Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers is an award-winning luxury hotel situated on the Chao Phraya River. We got a beautiful River View room and it was nice to just watch the boats zoom past by. The hotel lies on a sprawling property with several restaurants, two swimming pools, a spa, a tennis court, and a large garden area so it feels more like a resort, really, which Pat and I loved. If you’re looking for a place to just sleep in, lounge by the pool, enjoy a good meal with your loved ones—this is perfect for you! It’s also a very family friendly hotel too. We saw a lot of young parents with their kids checked in as well.

They have a complimentary boat shuttle that takes you straight to the train station, making it a very easy base for sightseeing too. But it’s also accessible by taxi and tuk-tuk as well. For this trip, we opted to cab it most of the time because I get easily tired with my pregnancy these days but we did get on the Skytrain for one trip and it was very clean and convenient.

On our last night, we had dinner at their Thai restaurant, Thara Thong, and we enjoyed our authentic Thai feast and the cultural dance show as well (which comes free with dinner!). I highly recommend making a reservation in advance though so you can get a nice seat inside the restaurant.

Every one we encountered from the GM to the concierge, receptionists, housekeeping staff were all very sweet and pleasant. They definitely went out of their way to make us feel special and I’ll never forget their Thai hospitality! 🙂 How I wish we had more than just 3 nights but tomorrow is a Monday and it’s back to reality again! However this quick break was enough to recharge and revive us for the crazy work week and we’re truly grateful once again to the SHERATON team and my AGODA family for this wonderful babymoon! Visit for more details about the hotel and book your vacay via 🙂 🙂
