Just like any girl out there, I love beauty and skincare products. It’s really a girl thing 🙂 I’ve been fortunate enough to try several beauty products in the market because of my job. However, just because I get a bevy of products doesn’t mean I convert all too easily. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It’s been a decade of hits and misses, really. Since I have very sensitive skin, I am very careful with the products I put on my face. And as you can tell, I don’t really like putting a lot of makeup on when I’m not working, so my SKIN’s health is really important to me. As Demi Moore shared “If you focus on good skin care, you really won’t need a lot of makeup.”
My regimen as a 31 year old is a bit more tedious than when I was in my 20s. I was just a facial wash then towel off kind of girl. No toners, no creams, no SPF. I used to think it was being “too maarte” to have several steps, but now I know that it’s a must for women to nourish your skin more as you age. It’s just like feeding your skin with healthy “food” and being purposeful about it.
My morning routine is as follows: Gentle Facial Cleanser and Toner (I use Shiseido’s White Lucent line now), 2 drops of ULTIMUNE, 1 drop of Vitamin C Serum, 1 drop of Organic Argan Oil (this is my moisturizer), SPF. Night time is pretty similar, with the addition of an eye cream and deleting the SPF. If I have a zit (usually when I’m about to have my period), I use spot treatment just before applying Argan Oil. In between steps, I leave about 2 minutes for each product to really seep through my skin before proceeding to the next step. I used to be soooooo lazy, but now I actually consider it therapeutic. I do this while catching up on my work emails early in the morning, I do one step, read one email, do the next step, read the next email, and so on. It helps that my husband and I both wake up early, so it gives us enough time to get things done before we head to work.
All the products I’ve mentioned are pretty common and I’m sure you already have a regimen that is similar to mine. BUT If there’s one product you must invest in, it would be THIS. Shiseido’s ULTIMUNE. I discovered it during a Press Trip to JAPAN recently and I’ve been telling all my friends about it. I’m not a Shiseido endorser, I use other brands of skincare too, pero gusto ko lang talaga ‘tong ULTIMUNE and it would be a shame not to share it! Hehehe!
If you compare it to the serums and creams in the department store, you may consider this a tad expensive. It is a splurge, really. There’s no denying it. But before you dismiss this as just “another luxury product”, I’d like you to consider the 20 years of research that goes into each bottle. First of all, it’s not really something you can compare to any other product in the market. It’s not a moisturizer, or an anti aging serum, or an acne spot treatment gel. And that’s why it has created such a buzz.
The ULTIMUNE Power Infusing Concentrate is a very potent immunity booster. The studies behind it dates back to the Langerhans Cell Research of Shiseido. This product has a unique ingredient that actually nourishes the Langerhan Cells in your skin, making your skin’s immunity stronger than ever. From what I understand, it’s not meant to treat existing problems. For example, it’s not an acne gel that will dry up a zit. It’s primary function is to BOOST YOUR SKIN’S IMMUNITY, to make it stronger at any age so it can decrease the possibility of you suffering from skin problems in the future. It also complements your existing regimen, because it’s a highly potent product–it actually helps your serums work better in your skin. It’s best to apply ULTIMUNE before your specialty serums and treatments to sort of prep your skin for absorption.
From my personal experience (I’ve been using it for 2 months now) my skin is definitely brighter. Take note, I didn’t say WHITER. This is not a whitening product, so this works for people who are already proud of their current skin color (Morena, Tisay, Chinita, lahat tayo magaganda!!!) and would just like to improve on the dullness and uneven complexion. My skin is also much softer! This is the first thing I noticed instantly! Pat even jokes me in the morning when I wake up, he brushes his hands against my face “Soft! Soft! Soft namaaaaaaan!”. He says it in jest but he also says he noticed a difference in the texture of my face. So yes, it’s husband approved! Yey! 🙂 I’m hoping that the more I use it, the more I’ll see it working to strengthen my skin from the inside.
You could actually pop into a nearby Shiseido store to test it. Or better yet, you can get an in store facial and ask the facialist to include it into your pampering treatment. My mom and I went to the Glorietta branch last week and really enjoyed their treatments. 🙂 Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with Ultimune with you guys today. I’ll make sure to share more beauty tips in the coming months!
