Balimoon 2012

“I’m not CLINGY! I just really, really, really LIKE you A LOOOOT!” This is what I always reply when Patrick kids me on my night time clingy-ness. I’m actually not a very clingy type of person in general, I mean we keep tabs on each other’s whereabouts throughout the day and keep each other posted casually—but we’ve never been the report-every-little-detail kind of couple. Trust has always been something we’ve valued and enjoyed in our relationship so it has never been an area to stress about.  But at night, I just get really extra mushy and clingy (in a funny kind of way). I guess it’s because we spend so many hours apart (because we both have our own respective jobs and commitments) that whenever we are reunited after a long, tiring work day there’s always this natural kilig.  I just like making sik-sik beside him while he answers his work emails and texts and my reward is when he puts away his phone and proceeds to hug me. Sometimes we joke “Let’s hug each other FOREVUUUURRRRR and EVUURRRR” and then after 2 minutes—-“ay, sige nangangalay na AKO–sakit na ng leeg ko..ow, ow..hahahaha!” My husband likes to tease that I’m like Theodore in Alvin and The Chipmunks—wide eyed and always eager for affection and attention! Yep, that’s ME! Ang cute ko naman kasi, dibaaaaa???? Hehehe 🙂 Although I must say, Patrick is just as cheesy with me when it’s just the two of us. But that’s just our little secret, okay!?

Today, I read a blog entry by my good friend Stella (www.misisteapot.com) and she shared how LUCKY she feels to be loved by her husband Julz and I couldn’t help but echo the same sentiment. I thank the Lord for surrounding us with happy and full marriages (not perfect ones, not glossy ones, just REAL SOLID relationships) because it inspires me to be grateful for my own marriage with Pat too! This song by Ben Folds has been a long time favorite of mine (and it came out in the About Time movie too, BEST MOVIE ABOUT LOVE&MARRIAGE EVER!!!) and now that I’ve been married for 2 years, this really summarizes my feelings for my husband 🙂 🙂 Life is simple AND Life is grand, thanks to you, Patrick.

  1. I laughed when I read “My husband likes to tease that I’m like Theodore in Alvin and The Chipmunks—wide eyed and always eager for affection”. I always tell people that you’re such a burst of sunshine. Sige, next time, I’ll tell them nalang that you’re like Theodore. Hahahaha. 🙂

    See you around!

  2. Reading your posts on Love and Marriage make me re-evaluate and appreciate my relationship with my husband. I hope you never get tired of sharing your sentiments on these and being someone else’s inspiration. =)

  3. as a person who has rarely had the privilege of meeting people with solid relationships, it is so refreshing to know that there are still people who can make it work. i sincerely admire how well you and your husband have taken on married life. it is simply amazing how two people can make all the pieces “fit” together beautifully. and i pray that one day, i could find someone i could share something just as beautiful with as well–perhaps not perfect, perhaps not glossy but definitely God-centered, founded by trust and respect, definitely solid. thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration in so many unique and profound ways. 🙂

  4. Thanks for making me smile always. I just ended a relationship that I think was not going anywhere. I thought I’d die ’cause I found out he went out with another girl when it wasn’t yet over. I’m grateful to God, your blog, my mom and best friends. I’m quite ok now. You are really both adorable Patty and Patrick. Keep inspiring people.

  5. This is exactly how I feel about my husband to be and i’m even more grateful for having me after reading this. Thankyou!!! 🙂
